Who Else Didn't Know...

That you can polish copper with a lemon and some salt?

I was stunned - and glad to know I can do this without harsh and scary-looking chemical concoctions... I love my copper pot, but it was in serious need of a scrubbing. This took all of two minutes. YAY!

Anything with a high acid content in combination with common table salt will work - vinegar, catsup, etc.

Watch out for tiny scratches on your hands, though. It's like rubbing salt into the wound, and then some.

I just heard that the other day. I love finding out about natural ways to do things.

Ketchup also works well, amazingly. Just squirt it in, let it sit then wipe it off :) (Cheaper than lemons sometimes!)

Oh that's so cool. I want to go and get a copper pan now just so I can clean it :)

I love simple fixes like this! I'm trying to use green cleaning products and things that I don't have to worry about the kids or the dog coming into contact with.
