...And One For You!

Happy New Year!

Writing yesterday's post got me thinking about how much I have truly enjoyed this little book:

You may be familiar with the first book written by this author, called French Women Don't Get Fat. I love that book as well, but really like this one even better. Seasons is a celebration of living seasonally and appreciating everything in its time, from food to styles to flowers and surroundings, such as interior living spaces and the changing landscape. Because I have enjoyed this book so much, I want you guys to have a chance to enjoy it too!

So, I am giving away one copy of this little treasure! I think you'll love it just as much as I have!

The giveaway will run through Friday, January 22. To enter, do any of the following, as often as you like (be sure to leave a separate comment at this post for each, if you would like multiple entries!):

(1) Leave me a comment telling me your favorite meal during the winter season!
(2) Leave a meaningful comment about anything else you want to share!
(3) Post about this giveaway and leave linkback in the comments.
(4) Tweet about this giveaway and post the tweet link here.
(5) Follow my blog and let me know you have done so.

I will select a winner at random from the final number of comments. Good luck!

Love, Dahrlin'

* This giveaway is not reimbursed or sponsored in any way.

I am already a follower.

And we know that random integer never picks the number 1.

So, I'll leave a second comment with my favorite winter meal.

It's a toss up now between homemade chicken pot pie with a side of mashed potatoes (I don't put the potatoes in the pie) OR Rachael Ray's corn choup, which has become a new favorite.

Yum.

I love Sundays, for many reasons, but I love to sit and plan out my meals for the week. It makes me feel organized and takes away the nightly stress of "what's for dinner".

Can I just say "soup"? Cause just about any soup is my favorite thing in winter. So comforting and warms you from tip to toe!!!!

I like the idea of living seasonally. I like the idea of living and enjoying the moment you're in. So often we do the "I can't wait til _______" and then once we get to whatever that is, we immediately start not being able to wait for the next thing. We end up just "can't waiting" our time away. I want to enjoy THIS moment. Live this moment for all it worth, with no regrets.

I'm with Lizzy, I love soup. In fact, I was just talking with the hubs about making French Onion Soup for dinner tomorrow night. Mmmm.

Ooo, now that's a cool book.

My favorite winter meal? Only one? Hmmm.... Homemade chicken pot pie, I think. Arg! I can't decide!

My meaningful comment: this morning my mom saw me as I was heading out to work (she does childcare) and her first - and only - comment of the morning to me was: wow, you're really going grey! Ok, so you can see the six silver hairs I have now. That's not "REALLY going grey." I'm sad.

My favorite winter meal is a thick and creamy bacon potato soup with chunks of freshly baked bread.

Let's all please pray for the sick, injured, and homeless in Haiti. The orphanage that my husband and son helped to build is still standing and none of our children were injured. Praise God.

My favourite winter meal is anything that comes out of the crockpot, but especially white chicken chili, and homemade macaroni and cheese is always a hit! Or curry of any type... it deludes me into thinking I'm somewhere warm.

When this month started, I was really concerned about how it was going to go for a lot of reasons. Things just weren't falling into place like I had hoped and I wasn't optimistic. However, I have shown myself that making lemonade out of lemons is something that I need to focus on more when a frustrating situation arises. Rather than dwelling on the negative, I've been trying really hard to capitalize on the positive and enjoy what I do have rather than focus on what I don't. It's made a huge difference on the happiness scale!
