What is your favorite Christmas treat?

Okay gang, help me out! I'm going to do some Christmas baking this week. I'll make some of our old standbys, but would like to try some new things too. What is your family's favorite in the area of cookies, bars or candy? Let me know and share the recipe and I will report back on what we make!

Thanks and hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend!

Love, Dahrlin'

The girls & I made Muddy Buddies and I've been snacking on them all weekend. I'm sure every person has a different name for this Chex recipe, but here it is!

9c Corn, Rice or Wheat Chex (or combo of the 3)

1/2c Peanut Butter

1c chocolate chips

1/4c Butter

1tsp Vanilla

1 1/2c Powdered Sugar

Pour dry cereal into a large bowl and set aside.

Combine peanut butter, chocolate chips and butter into microwave safe bowl and cook on high for 1 minute. Remove and stir. Cook for another 30 seconds and stir until there are no lumps.

Pour the mixture over the cereal and cover the cereal as thoroughly as possible. Transfer the mixture to a 2 gal ziploc bag. Add the powdered sugar, seal the bag and shake until all the cereal is covered.

Pour the cereal mixture in a single layer onto waxed paper and let it cool for about 15 minutes. Transfer the mixture to bags or resealable containers and refrigerate.

Enjoy!

We love Holly Wreathes (on the blog somewhere?). I also just made the greatest spice cranberry oatmeal cookies (up 2 weeks ago?) that are sorta Christmas-y. Otherwise, we're traditional sugar cut outs and ummmm not much new and fun this year. Have fun!

OK I cheat.....I buy premade cookie dough kids sell as fundraisers for their schools and use those.....but I do get different flavors so they're not always the same....and we do decorate them with sprinkles...

Here's a great appetizer or late night snack that's good and easy:

1 pack fresh cranberries, rinsed
1 navel orange, scrubbed
3/4 cup sugar
1 handfull pecans (optional)

Put all ingredients in food processor....turn on until all ingredients are little bitty.
Serve with Ritz crackers.

This is my fave late night during the season!

I love the dinner menu you have for Christmas. You're so organized. I am not...well.... because it is just the 4 of us.

Seafood & sides.

Oh..... your photobucket account is unhappy with your 90 days of neglect. It's messing with your blog.
